Lithuania

Lithuania is a small plot of land at the Baltic Sea. It is in the geographical centre of Europe (18 km from Vilnius). Lithuania borders with Latvia, Byelorussia, Poland and Russia. It's not a big country. The territory of Lithuanian Republic is about 65000 square km. The population is 3,7 millions.

In 1979 Margaret Thatcher became the first woman to serve as prime minister of Great Britain, a post she held until 1990. Thatcher rose to office with promises to restore Britain’s economic prosperity, and she worked toward this goal by selling and privatizing many government-owned industries.

My flat

I live in Puss street near he Vingis park in the 27th house. My flat is on the ground floor. There are two rooms, kitchen, bath and toilet rooms in my flat. The rooms are not the same size. I usually live and sleep in the smaller room. In my room are two windows, so it's a light room.

My future profession

After secondary school I will take entrance examinations and enter the university. Most young people want to go to a university. I do too. I want to be an economist or to know how to rule banks. I want to have a profession which brings me money.

My hobby

I think all people have a hobby. My hobby is the photography. I take and do photos myself. I like this occupation very much. I became interested in it about four years ago. It was when I saw how my friend does pictures. It was amazing. Since that time I become interested in this.

My memories of school days

School is the place where every child old enough must go. It was not an exception with me also. I went to the 5th secondary school in Marijampole first time when I was only 7 years old. I don’t remember much from that time, but something stayed in my head from the very first day in that big building.

My native town

Everybody has their native town. So do I. My native town is Skuodas. Skuodas is situated in the northern part of the coastal lowlands at the confluence of the Bartuva and Luoba Rivers and was first mentioned in 1253. Skuodas has long been called a “bin of rocks”.

My school

I attend secondary school named after Mikalojaus Dauksos in Vilnius. I have been going to this school for eleven years now. Our school is 30 years old it was build in 1963. The school is rather large: there are about 1400 schoolchildren and about 80 teachers here.
