Klaipėda

Kaipėda, the third-largest city in Lithuania, is a window to the world of international trade for the country – its port is ice-free nearly all year round. Ravaged in World War II when it was used by Germans as a submarine base, much of Klaipėda including Old Town had to be rebuilt. However, the main draw for tourists is the city’s location – it sits at the mouth of the Danes river and on the Curonian Lagoon.
