Aprašymas	Ability test include aptitude tests which are designed to predict what a person can accomplish with training and achievement tests which measure accomplished skills and indicate what the individual can do at present. Both tests may contain similar types of items, but they differ in their purposes and in the amount of prior experience they assume. Some ability test measure very specific abilities; others cover a range of skills.

To be useful, test must meet certain specifications. Studies of reliability tell us whether test scores are consistent over time. Studies of validity tell us how well a test measures what it is intended to measure - how well it predicts according to an acceptable criterion. Uniform testing procedures are necessary for a test to be reliable and valid.
