Išsamus aprašymas

Fashion history
For centuries individuals or societies have used clothes and other body adornment as a form of nonverbal communication to indicate occupation, rank, gender, sexual availability, locality, class, wealth and group affiliation. Fashion is a form of free speech. It not only embraces clothing, but also accessories, jewellery, hairstyles, beauty and body art. What we wear and how and when we wear it, provides others with a shorthand to subtly read the surface of a social situation.(10) „Fashion – measure, way, rule, order.“(1) It is hard to tell exactly when it was found. Fashion is old, but ageless and constantly changing phenomenon. Fashion, undoubtedly, is a huge part of culture. Some historians assume that fashion, as a feature, started in XII- XIII century, when costumes obtained different details and accessories, which were not a necessity – like hats of one meter height, long tails or shoes with such convoluted noses, that they had to tie it to shin. Fashion is characterized as a no durable and certain domination in taste, wardrobe, and domestic things in any sphere of life or culture; also is known as a brief popularity of some feature. As everything in nature and human society, fashion is also inconsistent; it is constantly changing and evolving. The willingness to take care about your appearance is natural from long ago. Special attention was spared to body care in archaic Egypt (in about 3000 – 30 BC).All Egyptians despite of their sex or position in society took care of their appearance. People were interested in physical beauty in ancient Greece (VII – II BC).Usually men knew more about beauty and its secrets, massages, healing baths, exercises, creams and perfumes, differently than nowadays. Nevertheless, women taking care of themselves were actually ready for everything. There was no appearance cult in ancient Rome (VIII BC – VAC) until the 1st century BC. Romans got interested in this a bit later, and then started using baths, bathhouses, and massages with huge surfeit, which was natural to their nation. Women were more into all this, although men tried to keep up.( 4 ) In the Middle Ages development of appearance art went through contradictory times in Western Europe. Gorgeous clothes, cosmetics usually were dispraised as an attribute of wicked body. Renaissance overspread the idea of body beauty ideal, and it revived the attention to appearance; it was the period of experiments. The 19th century distinguished vicissitude of various styles and art trends. In mean time, different fashionable types were changing, clothes, hairdos and make-up fashion tried to keep up with it.( 7 )
I choose subject styles and images. I would like to compare what divided styles from image? Every epoch of cultural development has its own peculiar style of modern styles and image, which expresses the conception of the world and the way of life of the period. However, still of one and the same epoch are very different, same as are peoples class and social possibilities. Topicality this subject is so, that womenfolk and menfolk want feel slip-on, nice, pretty and stylish. My work is about:
